A Spooky Sci-Fi Scenario Part 2

Turning It Into A Mini Campaign

I have written two further scenarios, that can be played after the first scenario. One if the defender of Mamary Town won, one if they lost.

If the defenders lost the first scenario but win the second scenario, then you can play the second scenario contained here in as a third linked scenario.

If the defenders of Mamary Town won:

The surviving colonists of Mamary Town decide to go up into the Mamary hills and destroy the strange ancient alien monolith. They carry/transport all the explosives they can get their hands on up into the hills with the intention of blowing up the ancient alien monolith. But as they approach there is a big flash of light from the monolith that blinds and dazes the colonists. Once they regain their vision they see at the centre of the monolith, not one, but two massive warp monsters.

The colonists, shaken, and confused, realise they must destroy these accursed monsters, and the ancient alien monolith once and for all. Their resolve hardens, and they advance towards their doom.

Objectives: Kill the warp monsters and plant the explosives, blow up the ancient alien monolith.

If the defenders of Mamary Town lost:

The few survivors of Mamary Town become refugees and their once thriving community is abandoned, but they swear to return and soon.

They head for the nearest frontier outpost, a small colonial defence force outpost where they are taken in.

But the warp mutants have grown in number and follow hot on the trail of the refugees of Mamary Town.

It isn’t long before the warp mutants are assaulting the small, fortified outpost of Fort Dumpster.

The fort is small and has little more than medium walls with some buildings and stores inside, with a road checkpoint running through it.

There are some wall/turret mounted defenses/weapons. Also, some armed patrol vehicles that can be manned by the garrison and the survivors.

The warp mutant’s forces should number around 30-40 figures with a mix of melee and ranged weapons as before.

The garrison should be around 10 figures plus D10 Mamary Town survivors.

Hopefully, the defenders will win this time – if so – play the first scenario – If the defenders of Mamary Town win.

Alternatively, you could play out a scenario whereby the survivors of Mamary Town along with a force from Fort Dumpster have to fight to clear Mamary Town of any remaining warp mutants.

10 warp mutants versus 10 survivors/colonial militia with one or two armed vehicles/technical etc.

If the defenders lose again there will be a last stand scenario shortly. If this is lost, the campaign is lost. If this is won, then continue playing back through the other scenarios in order.

Stay tuned for the last stand scenario.
